Cross Game is a soccer anime which will take you back on time with its exclusive charm. It has a nice slower pace and won’t feature the high pitched yelling or perhaps unrealistic malignant baseball dictatorships that you might expect from the other shonen mangote.

While the story is about hockey it is more of a coming of age story than other things. This makes it a lot more mature and realistic series that will appeal to a wider audience than those who love baseball.

Aoba Tsukishima is one of the most interesting characters through this anime. When she loves snowboarding more than any of the guys she is not allowed to play over a official staff. This has been a major problem on her and it will quite possibly remain a problem as long as gender stereotypes exist.

While the primary focus of the series is the relationships between Ko and her 4 sisters the sports theme gives the message an added dimension that may be very enjoyable to watch. The animation is definitely beautiful as well as the characters really are a pleasure to watch. The only disadvantages to this demonstrate are that it doesn’t have several episodes like a other shonen and the fact that it is a tad slower than many.
